Frequently Asked Questions
Hydrafacial
-
There is no downtime for a HydraFacial, which makes it a great “lunchtime procedure” that you can squeeze into your work day. Sessions typically last about 30-60 minutes. You leave glowy and hydrated.
-
The HydraFacial™ treatment is designed for all skin types and skin conditions. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates the HydraFacial™ treatment. We may choose specific treatment serums and customize the treatment for your unique skin conditions and needs.
-
A Hydrafacial can improve the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne, congestion, oily skin, and dryness. This treatment gives the skin a more radiant hydrated glow.
-
The smooth glowy results and hydration may last about 5-7 days maybe even a bit longer. The benefits of the treatment last a full month. Continued HydraFacial™ treatments are highly recommended to maintain results. One treatment every 4 weeks is recommended to see optimal results. It takes about 6-8 treatments to start seeing more noticeable long term improvement with the skin.
-
When blue light is directed at the skin through a device like our Hydrafacial handpiece, it can reach down to the pores of the skin. Without damaging other cells the way ultraviolet rays do, the blue light kills bacteria and slows the production of oil, thus eliminating two causes of acne at once.
Red LED light stimulates fibroblasts in the skin to produce more of it so that fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed out. It also helps promote tissue repair, healing sun damage, wounds/scars, and inflammation.
-
The HydraFacial™ now has a patented lymphatic device that uses low-pressure suction. This suction is applied in a specialized directional method to manually massage and drain your lymph nodes. This drainage can improve circulation, depuff, detoxify, tone and firm the facial skin.
-
The Hydrafacial Lip perk is a perfect add on to any treatment! The Perk lip serum contains peppermint oil, aloe leaf extract, and peony extract to hydrate the lips. Not only will your lips be remarkably moisturized, but the treatment also leaves them lightly plumped. Ideal for significant events or for achieving a subtle, more luscious pout, the PERK treatment effects can last up to 30 days and is also great for in between lip filler appointments to help keep the lips lush and plump.

Chemical Peels
-
A chemical peel is a professional skin treatment that uses a blend of exfoliating acids to remove damaged outer layers of skin, revealing fresher, smoother, and more radiant skin beneath. Peels vary in strength and ingredients depending on your skin concerns and goals. At Skinfatuation there is a range of peels available from mild to medium depth.
-
Chemical peels can be safe for all skin tones and types but which peel and strength of peel should be customized to your skin tone, sensitivity, and concerns. A consultation is recommended to choose the safest and most effective peel.
-
Chemical peels can help improve:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Sun damage and dark spots
Uneven skin tone and texture
Acne and acne scarring
Dull or congested skin
Enlarged pores
-
Not always. Visible peeling can vary depending on the type of peel used and your skin’s condition. Some clients experience flaking or sheet peeling, while others may not peel at all—but that doesn’t mean the treatment wasn’t effective. Peels are designed to work beneath the surface regardless of how much peeling you have.
-
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, waxing, and active ingredients (like AHAs, BHAs, or benzoyl peroxide) for 5–7 days prior. It’s also important to stay out of the sun right before and after.
-
Many clients see noticeable results after one treatment, but a series of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is often recommended for best results, especially for concerns like acne scarring, melasma, or fine lines. We can develop a personalized treatment plan for your specific concerns in a consultaton.
-
Yes! Peels can be part of a treatment plan that includes facials, microneedling, or tox/fillers, but timing and spacing are key. Always consult your provider to build the safest and most effective treatment schedule.
-
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Patients with known allergies to any of the ingredients in the peel or post peel products.
Patients who have used Accutane within the past four months.
Patients who have open wounds, sunburn, infected skin, cold sores or lesions.
Patients with a history of cold sores (herpes simplex) should be given an anti-viral three days prior to the treatment to avoid a potential breakout.
Patients who have recently received treatments such as waxing, electrolysis, laser resurfacing or chemical exfoliants.
Patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
Patients with a history of autoimmune disease or any condition that may weaken the immune system.
Microneedling
-
Microneedling is a collagen-induction treatment that uses fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process, increasing collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer, and more even skin.
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne scars and other scarring
Enlarged pores
Stretch marks
Uneven skin tone and texture
Mild skin laxity
Dull or dehydrated skin
-
A prescription strength topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to keep you comfortable. Most clients report feeling little to no pain, just some mild pressure or vibration.
-
While results can often be seen after a single treatment, a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for best results, especially for acne scars, deeper wrinkles, or advanced aging concerns. For deeper wrinkles and scars multiple/on going treatments can be needed.
-
Downtime is typically minimal. You may experience:
Redness or mild swelling (similar to a sunburn) for 24–72 hours
Possible dryness, tightness, or light flaking as skin renews
You can usually return to regular activities within 24–48 hours
-
You may notice a post-treatment glow within the first week. Deeper results, such as firmer texture or scar improvement, continue to develop over the next few weeks to months as collagen production increases.
-
Yes, microneedling is safe for most skin tones and types when performed by a licensed professional using proper protocols. However, it may not be appropriate for active acne, certain medical conditions, or individuals prone to keloids.
-
Yes! Microneedling can be enhanced with:
LED light therapy for healing and inflammation
Biocellulose masks for hydration and reduced redness.
CO2 Lift or mesotherapy serums for added skin rejuvenation
Always consult your provider to customize your plan.Exosomes or other serums can enhance the rejuvenation and collegen buildng process as well.
